Signing Off Until The New Year

After listening to a fabulous new episode of Ravenwood Radio (on which I didn't win a fancy Wizard101 Mantasy Falace), David and I are posting together tonight to conclude the year of 2010.

We've had an amazing year with everyone in the Wizard101 online community. We wish you all a new year full of despair, shame, reluctance, and pity (for the record, just kidding).

Thanks to one and all, especially Luke GoldHorn. And Friendly. And Steve.

Oh, don't get me started. There's just been so many people that have been helping me and David though Wizards.

I know you'll miss us these next few days as we sign off on blogging until the new year.

A huge congratulations to Ashley SeaBreeze, who won the contest on Ravenwood Radio. You are to be praised for snatching an MFP rightly-fully from my grasp ;-)

And now, a word from your loony pyromantic friend, Sir David "The Mango" TitanRider, notably famous for his relation to blogging legend Dustin "The Stapler" MoonCatcher.

~

(For the record, Dusty's the loony one.)
In a nutshell, or mango peel, pick however you wish to summarize it.

Nutshell-A great year, full of craziness, and magical prowess-60 WOOT!

Mango Peel- Slimy, kinda floppy, and a bit overrated :) lol
(Thats for you Friendly)
"Forget Grammar"-Dustin (as he stares at the screen as I type)-lol

Ok now for safety tips with David!

Mango's are floppy, and rather slimy if you step into a random room with Mango skin carpet.
SOOO Naturally you call the police about a wackjob with mango's on his carpet-xD

I wish you all a good ol happy new year, and (>^.^>  KIRBY!

(so off topic)

This is Dustin and David signing off!
FOREVER!!!

( NOT)  xD
Keep on Casting! ( or having your mentally deranged cousin (AHEM) hack at you with a giant Nerf Sword-HELP ME-)

We Become Even More Of Legends In Our Own Egos

I'm not going to go into details, because David just posted them.

We're Legendary. That's all I'm saying. Here's the video of our final moments collecting experience... (Until we get more Levels... If we get more Levels.)

The video here is pretty small - so you can click on it to go to YouTube where you can view it in full HD.

Thank you very much to everyone who has helped us along the way.

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

DING! Lvl 60!!!!! :D

Its official folks, We are LEGENDS! (or even more so ;)
So when Dustin and I were on tonight we had to fight our way deep into the rust covered ship. The Calypso!
Yeah I know, Screen capture +Ninja Jump=PICTURE FAILURE
But hey! Its still a memory.
So after A Efreet, a Leviathan, and a Triton=
Lol I know, epic triton face glitch :D.(or was that there for a reason? ;) )
So after Dusty's and I's battle (grammar fail :( ) We were astounded achieved this!
EPICNESS! good ol Calypso decided to hand over our keys to success-just plain old Glory.
Here's my stats now.
Now all thats left is to plan the rest of our Wandcast Holiday show, and prepare for some epic walrus on the field. ;) I'm sure Kestrel brought the mango's too.
Lol Life=GOOD.

Adios Guys,
Keep on Casting! :)

Two Way Renovating

Hey guys! I feel like I've been doing two types of renovating right now, so I'll take you through them...

The first renovation is the Wizard101 Info renovation. I'm having a great time redesigning the blog with the great blogger John SpiritShade from Ambrose 2 Zeke. He's awesome! Anyway, we've got a new header, color scheme, and a little bit more coming for you soon. I just have to give John a huge thank you for helping me out - his graphic design is incredible, and Wizard101 Info will look so good once it's all done. (Any #Twizards reading? Then follow John on Twitter for the latest updates from his blog and Spiral life: @spiritshade101 and @ambrose2zeke.)

Until then, though, all you poor unfortunate readers will be stuck with a classical Blogger template. You're welcome!

The second renovation I've been doing is of my alternate character, who hails from the Myth School. Recently, I took Dustin DuskCatcher into Krokotopia! He finished all Wizard City quests, and is taking the new sandy climate headstrong.

Just today, he hit Level 16 while questing in the early to mid stages of the Pyramid of the Sun. This meant two new spells: the Ether Shield from Myth, and the Tower Shield from Ice. I had MoonCatcher learn Life to Satyr and Death to Feint, so I'm trying a bit more defensive approach with DuskCatcher (Ice to Tower, Death to Feint.) Of course, this includes the mandatory tri-blade tri-trap stuff from Niles, and, eventually, a Celestial school. I'm leaning towards Sun for D.D.M., but it might have to be Star... Or, I could pick and choose from all the Celestial schools like I wish I'd done with Dustin.

Let me know what you think of my plan by leaving a comment on this post...

Well, that's an update on what I've been up too. Check back soon for a new and improved Wizard101 Info!

Astral Magic Mastered!

David and I did a whole lot of questing last night with Friendly and Cass. Thanks for the help, guys! It was a bunch of fun.

A highlight of last night was finishing off the Lounging Lizards quest in Celestia. This means that we earned (1) the Celestian Explorer badge and (2) a Training Point.

I thought it was pretty cool, since we were able to learn... Empowerment!

Let me tell you, this spell is great. Get it. If you want.

Leave a comment if you have any questions...

Early Questing in the Crustacean Empire

David and I got a little bit of questing done today in the Crustacean Empire. It's been really bothering him how all of the Crabs have speech impediments.
If the Crab's speech impediments are bothersome to you, kindly turn off the voice-overs feature and be done. I like the Crabs. There.
Today was the first time we ran into Thurston Plunkett, the fabled Marleybonian leader of the Celestian expediation.
The dude's pretty short. That's all I'm saying. (Sorry, Professor Balestrom! I had too!)

So that was cool. (Please leave your ridiculing comments on Plunkett's height in the comments section below, but don't tell Professor Balestrom!) ;-)
Soon after the quest where you meet Plunkett, there's a quest to collect sea mold. I put together a guide for you guys since the quest helper doesn't work for this.

Hope this helps anyone who's looking for mold for this quest!
I'll keep you guys posted on our questing... Until then...

Back In Business - Grand Re-Opening!

Before I begin, please allow me to define "nostalgia" for you.

"nostalgia:" a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal association

Yeah, folks, I'm feeling really nostalgic. I wanna be back with you all here on Wizard 101 Info, and not over at the Musings!

Friends, and wizards, please allow me to officially announce... what we were planning on announcing months from now... but what I will announce now...

THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF WIZARD 101 INFO!

Because although you guys have been great and haven't complained too much, we know that we've been really bad bloggers for the past 4 months. We know it, yo.

So we're back in business! If you've been keeping up with my Musings blog, which I'm putting on hold for a bit to come back here, you'll know that David and I are now Level 59 and and playing in the sun zones of Celestia.

Stay closely tuned, Wizards! We'll be back soon with a new design for the blog as well as hopefully an abundance of posts.

I wish I could give you all codes for the Epic Gift card to show you how awesome you guys are. But I am broke. So I can't.

Keep on Casting,

Untitled

Man, I haven't posted in a WHILE. A LONG time. A VERY LONG time. I hope you guys don't hate me to much.

You probably do. I knew I shouldn't have started the Musings blog.

Well, you guys will be happy to know that the holiday season is giving me loads of nostalgia. The holiday season is also giving you a brand new, renewed, vibed up, Wizard 101 Info!

Keep on checking this blog, guys, because David and I are working behind the scenes to get a special event going with a couple of blogging buddies.

Stay tuned, guys! Keep on checking here... and my Musings blog :P

Celestia, Gardening, lvl 56, and Treant Polymorphing!

Hey guys David here, with a few updates for the few people still looking at this blog. For those of you who havent been on the test realm yet, then GO! We got Farming :) What I discovered was that the growth bar when you inspect it was to show when it would grow into the NEXT stage, not when it was harvest able. Also Me and Dustin dinged 56! I didnt know I was going to be posting about this, so I don't have a screen shot.  Celestia, so far has been good to me, we are in the Portico, after easily gliding through the Storm Lords Palace! (or Temple?)Next is POLYMORPHING!!!!  I used my lvl 55 training point to learn Treant. It is an amazing polymorph, which gives some attacks and a lot of healing and shielding advantages! I would highly recommend you learn this polymorph at Stormriven from this dude! ULANTOR STARMIST! -Sry Everyone the Blogspot is not allowing me to upload screen captures of Stormriven.-

So yeah, no screen captures :(

Ill try to upload them into a different post afterward.

Celestian Diaries, Number 2 (Rant Included!)

At least I'm not the only blogger who's found it hard to balance blogging and Wizard101 lately. It seems that Friendly is yet again realizing that "less talkee, more playee" is quite important.

However, it's been a few days since Celestia's launch, and David and I aren't even Level 51 yet! Yep, that's right. We're taking it extremely slow - not even out of the Grotto!

I would have pictures for all of you... But I've been so immersed in game play that it's just not happening. Sorry, Print Screen...

Well, not necessarily Print Screen. Folks, it's time I broke it to you. Something has been seriously frustrating me... Besides the fact that KingsIsle took out two very excellent Solar Spells because of PvP imbalance rather than just banning them in PvP.

All right, let's face it: the Mac destroys the PC any day. The Mac has better software, better hardware, and is downright better than a PC. I KNOW, I know, the PC is "a better gaming computer". I must say, though, that the PC is only a better gaming computer right now because the industry makes it so.

Let's take Wizard101 (a game) and Livestream (a great tool for gamers and online communities) for example, here.

Wizard101 is only compatible on the PC currently. Why is this? Only the people at KingsIsle will really know why Wizard101 only runs on PC's. Now, I've gotten Wizard101 to run on my Mac through fairly expensive software. Even then, the game doesn't run the way I want it to. It glitches often, and is not compatible with software like...

Livestream. An excellent tool for gamers who want to share their experience in games without the toil of creating a blog or a podcast. All you have to do is press "Go Live", and you're broadcasting your game to the world... On a PC. On Mac, however, there is no version of Procaster (Livestream software) that allows the user to specifically broadcast a game they play. I would, then, after having to go through all the trouble of using pretty annoying third party software, be disappointed because Livestream for Mac will not recognize games. This means desktop broadcasting, which is entirely different than game broadcasting, because it usually takes much less to power. If you try to broadcast a game with desktop broadcasting software, you will not be as successful as you might have been otherwise.

Here is my point: Why do people not make PC and Mac equal on software and hardware? Honestly. Why won't Livestream recognize games on Mac, and why won't KingsIsle pull out a Mac version of Wizard101?

Think about it from a business perspective: You have several million PC user's playing your game... There's several million Mac users out there who would love your game, too, KingsIsle! They'd buy subscriptions and Crowns and Mega Snack Packs and with those Crowns and so it all unfolds and comes back down to-

Money. It's what makes the world go 'round, folks.

And that's my rant of the day! Enjoy Celestia! (Coming to your Mac soon? Oh, I wish.)

Oh, right, and before I sign off, I might as well notify everyone that my Livestream channel is up and running: The Dustin MoonCatcher Network. I know, I've got a gigantic ego and have been renaming it a bunch of crap names every other minute, but it's here to stay now just a channel. David and I might be broadcasting some Celestia on it later tonight. Check it out (click here) and STAY TUNED!

Celestia Diaries, Number One

Celestia hit the Live Realm this morning! It's my blogging duty to document this incredible event... And so I will.

(If you're new to what's what in the Celestia Expansion, here's the update notes for you. Enjoy!)

Let's kick this off! As soon as the evil patcher finished updating Wizard101, I began!

So Diego gave me a hat, too. Yeah, even though it gives Critical bonus and great health, it's just not like the Grand Gear...

Then, it was off to Merle for THE QUEST.

Took you long enough, hasn't it, Ambrose? Well, anyway, I took his quest, and then made my way to Wizard City's Spiral Chamber.

It was wonderful to see Celestia on the roster. When the patching patcher was finally FINITE with patching, this amazing vista greeted me in Celestia.

It's awesome to finally be in Celestia LIVE!

Well, uh, that's all I've got today. I really wanna get some actual playing in... So see you guys under the sea!

I'll hopefully be back in a day or two with more pics and info!

Keep on Casting, THOSE MIGHTY MIGHTY ASTRAL SPELLS!

Auras... Well, I Called It!

Hey there, Wizards! How's everyone doing? Hopefully good!

As Bailey (Friendly's uber wife) reminded me last night, I have the bragging rights on what the Astral School is all about! I'm sure plenty of people like myself won't remember, but I totally called Auras in Wizard101 Astral Magic. It was on a WandCast discussion, and I'm so shocked that I actually called something that I'm considering learning Stars. I did say how awesome that would be... It's a really nice school.

Oh yeah, and the big news! KingsIsle dropped the bomb on us this morning, to general intakes of breath and heart-attacks! Well, here you go, the big news!

Out great old pal Stormzilla is having his neck fixed when... Celestia goes live tomorrow.

Yup, folks so that's the awesome news! That's righto, no announcements about Celestia hitting the Live Realm tomorrow or anything like that!

Boy, I'm sure glad they're fixing Stormzilla. It was starting to really annoy me that we hadn't seen a fix in his neck yet.

See you guys tomorrow! TweetFeed is sure to be explosive when Stormzilla gets his neck fixed. 'Cause that's all the news there is.

Keep on Casting,

Another Fanfic, in Dustin's View!

Dustin POV.

Magic swirled around diviner as the myth wizard threw Cyclops after Cyclops on his weakening wall of shields. Thinking fast our intrepid hero grabs the nearest Cyclops, pinning him down and knuckle busting its helmet. His trusty pet Louie shrank away under his owner’s cape as the earthy smell of myth filled the area. A jet of green flew past his ear as a life wizard threw wand spells at him. Dustin felt his power surge as his helephant amulet filled him with a fury of devouring flame on wood. “noooooo!” Said the voice, high and cracking as the magical dagger flew from Dustin’s hand in an arching movement. Dustin stopped a few inches from the life wizard’s nose. He was, in a sense appearing to be a person down in his luck, and lost. Louie, curious as ever, stuck his head around Dustin’s leg and stared balefully down at the wizard who lay at his master’s feet. Sensing this, Dustin stuck the dagger in his boot and held his hand out toward the myth wizard. “I’m Dustin, who are you?”

“Michael, Michael RainHammer.” Stammered the puzzled wizard

“Nice to see you, now follow me.” Dustin said, rather boldly

“b-but why?” the even more confused wizard pursued, but the Diviner had already turned into a nearby tunnel.

“Well, something reminds you of me Michael, and be grateful that’s what’s keeping you alive now!” Dustin said grinning slightly despite himself.

As the Life Wizard followed Dustin into the cave, Dustin unconsciously pressed his hand onto the molten rock medallion that David had given him so long ago……..

Bad?

Not that bad?

Horrible?

Awesome?

Read/Review I guess.

Thanks,
-David

David's Fanfiction.

Hiya!  I got kinda bored and had an "eh" idea in my head from a book I read called "The Warrior Heir."

Plz Comment and Review I guess --1-10-- 10 Being BEST!

(OVERVIEW)

Wizard Society was done. The whole system of school, level, and friendship was destroyed, all that mattered was power. The remaining wizards were mainly in hiding, living among in shattered buildings, and using whatever they could. Over the years, some “hierarchy” as you could call it had formed, that’s when Pvp really took a new spin. Each aspiring wizard donned their chosen colors and flew into a battle where, no circle existed and spells were always flying around. This is where I come in, simply because of when a winner is decided after the whole tournament, they get power over everything, and that is the reason I’m still going, and haven’t given up. I’m going to make a change….

WHAM! A nearby boulder where I had taken cover by had exploded into nothingness as a stampeding Stormzilla stepped on it. Leaning around my hiding place, I braced by battle armor for a hit, threw up a shield and charged. Immediately A nearby ice wizard started throwing out glowing ice wyverns-Treasure Card Wyverns- , who streaked like their lizard counterparts toward where I was running. My blood ran cold as I saw the little ground between us. Diving to avoid the sharp claws of the four creatures, I gripped my scimitar style Cerulean Edge and swung into a startled wyvern coming around the bend. Gritting my teeth against the burst of freezing ice magic that flowed into the air from the disappearing wyverns’ corpse, I turned on a dime, almost tripping on the protective cloak by my feet and felt the little hope of survival disappear as the Frost Giant glared into my eyes. I gripped the Storm insignia triton necklace hanging frozen in the air, and felt a spark of hope, a surge of lightning in my heart.

Peace!

(The Storm part might be a bit confuzzling, but it shall come to you all later.)

Celestia Is Here, And So Am I!

Hey, everyone! It's Dustin here, and I can't even express how awesome it is to be blogging again.

Allow me to recap - I've had to stop blogging weekly/daily because of my band, my upcoming Bar Mitzvah, and homework.

But hey, guys, look: Celestia is up on the Test Realm right now as I type this, which is just uber cool! You can read about what's up with all the new updates here (that's the Wizard101 Update Notes page).

Anyway, I'm back on Wizard101 Info because Celestia needs me to blog about it. No more questions asked. You'll  be seeing hopefully a bit more of me once Celestia actually comes on the Live Realm.

I'm going to make a real effort to keep this blog updated - so please keep checking back here, but I can't promise top-notch posts everyday.

Thank you very much to everyone who's stuck with me and David for so long. We can't wait to blog about our adventures in Celestia together.

Sorry Guys... I Have to Take a Stop for a BIT!

Well, since school has started for me. And I've got a ton of work. And I can't blog anymore (for now!) because of this.

First of all, I've started at a private school this year. And I feel morally more obliged to the school work because we're paying $$$ for me to go to this school.

Anyway, I'll still be doing the Broadsheet and SOMETIMES checkin' in here at Wizard101 Info. Also, I'll definitely still be in-game.

Thanks for understanding guys.

Been Busy, Very Busy

David Here, just want to make a post while I have the chance. Life has been so CRAZY, with Algebra I and Life Science, Spanish and Reading Homework is just piling higher and higher. Well, (Google This) Como Te llamo? and I suppose write up a comment. :/ Been so bored and busy :(  ah well,

Peace!  (and still waiting for Celestia!)  (KI, Selena Gomez? Really?!?!?????)

lol, anyway Bye!

WandCast… Well, It's Finished.

Since David, Kestrel, and I have been discussing this for the past week or so, I thought it was time to let the community know what's what.

Well… WandCast. We've decided to stop making it.

Our reasons? We don't think it's really worth it anymore (and we don't mean that not enough people come to shows or anything). I have had absolutely no blog time this week with school starting again, and I don't think that Kestrel has either. That's reason one.

The other reason is, as I said, that we don't really feel like it's worth doing. WandCast isn't a huge hit, and it takes so much time to do. We see no more real reason to keep up with it.

To all the loyal fans of this ten episode show - thank you. You've kept us ticking, and we thank you so much for being dedicated and coming out to every live show we've ever done.

So what's the next step for Wizard101 Info? Well, we're just going to stay how we've always been. A blog. Just a Wizard101 blog.

Thanks guys!

The Bartleby Broadsheet, August 2010 Edition!

Well, folks, it's time I break the ice about my latest project to you all.

(This isn't the one with IcyWiz; that one is going to be a lot bigger and way more tedious to complete. So don't expect it to soon.)

This project, which I release the first edition of today, is called The Bartleby Broadsheet. It is a Wizard101 newspaper.

And the first ever edition, for August 2010, is available right now as long as you click this. I really hope that you enjoy reading this paper, and you can expect the next edition on October 1. And thanks for everyone who helped me write this one! (I'm not really explaining anything/much in the post about the newspaper, because it's really all explained inside. . .)

So what're you waiting for? Click here and download the first ever Wizard101 newspaper in PDF format! WOOT!

Dusky Hits Krokotopia!

Last night, with help from Haley MoonCatcher, my little Conjurer (Dustin DuskCatcher) finished off Wizard City and received his MythBlade spell. Picture time!

Dusky chillin' in the Myth School

Dusky's current deck setup. Note the Sideboard ;)

Lil' Dustin's stats. Pretty nice, for his level. Note gold amount (Wayfinder Scheme FTW!).

Bubba REALLY saves the day here. Note my current health situation X_X

So yeah, that's all pretty awesome. I pretty much really mad at David because he's been telling me my whole Wizard101 career that Myth is the school for me. Up until now, I really couldn't believe that because I'd never played it before. (Unless you count me getting a Conjurer to Level 5 on he first day I ever played :P)

Could little Dusky possibly rival MoonCatcher as mains'? Find out next time, on. . . Wait, this isn't Ditto's segment ;)

Wayfinder Hats Put On No Auction

Yep. KingsIsle made those great Wayfinder Hats un-auctionable.

So what does this mean? For everyone who's been hatching on a daily basis, the fun's over. For everyone who's been shared banking their Wayfinder's over to their alts, the fun's over. Basically, for me and a bunch of other people, the fun's over.

But hey, it's not like it's been coming as a big surprise. David has been telling me for a week now that KingsIsle is bound to change this thing. I secretly had to agree with him, because this whole thing has been very unbalancing to the game. But hey, as Kevin BattleBlood and Heather Raven both pointed out to me, "It's honest money!" and "Since they made their system like that, they should suffer the consequences." I can't help but agree with both of them. Especially since. . .

Yeah, I spent a bunch of gold on this Red Dragon Mount. David is going to be mad. But that's all cool.

What I'm Doin'.

Okay, so I've made up my mind about what I'm going to do about my current dilemma. (Just read that post I linked to remember my position.)

I have decided first off to let you know about what I'm going to do regarding WandCast. I'm really sad to say this, but I just have to take a hiatus from it for an episode or two. It's been pretty stressful being the only one on the show who actually has to do technical stuff (no offense at all to my "co-workers"). Every show, I've got to broadcast the whole thing while recording it while doing the Skype call. Then, afterward, I'm the one who has to edit it (which means re-listening to the whole show pretty much sentence by sentence and cutting out all the junk David says *wink*) Why? Maybe it's just because I'm good at it. But during my hiatus, Kestrel and David will need to step up to the tasks themselves, and I'm interested in seeing how they do. Maybe, after I get back, we can split up the responsibilities a bit more evenly. Also, the reason you haven't seen WandCast 10 out yet is because we (well, since I'm on a hiatus, David and Kestrel) are thinking about re-shooting it due to technical problems and an overall not-good-enough problem.

Alright, so now I'm moving on. I've decided to keep up with Wizard101 Info full time. It was my first ever connection to this fabulous community, and it's going to get better and better as we get closer (and when) to Celestia's release. Yes, this means that I will be picking up with posts again. (I'm really sorry about the lack of 'em! I've actually got a lot to talk about with you guys.)

And finally, I've got a huge new project coming out. If you are a good writer and would be willing to write, email me (wizard101stuff@gmail.com). That's all I'm sayin'.

Well, guys, lemme know what you think of my decision! This is King Boom signing off.

Decisions?

As you can obviously tell, I've been posting less. This is due simply to the fact that my Real Life is taking over. And although it's making me very sad to think about it, there's going to be a lot of decisions I'm going to making pretty soon (as in the coming school year).

It's summer, and my whole Real Life is just taking off. I've been busy with a lot of band stuff. My band is really prominent in the area where I live, as is punk rock music (which we play). We played just last night at a huge venue that I'd LOVE to mention because if you know music, you'd know the venue. And then you'd think I'm cool. But I can't, because it would give away my top secret location. Anyway, it's really taking off for us (with a second CD in the process of being recorded and mixed), and we're pretty much getting shows left and right, and the demand for writing more and more songs is getting higher. On top of that, I've been semi-forced to set up a blog for the band/myself that has nothing to do with Wizard101, as well as a Twitter account. It's all for the goal of getting better connections in my area, which is very important.

So my band is taking up a huge amount of my time, and I'm happy! However, it's going to be more and more time consuming as the year progresses. But I'm worried that more things (like, oh, I dunno... SCHOOLWORK) is going to take up even more time. As you might know because I've blogged it before, I'm going to a private school next year. It's not that geeky of a school, actually, but the workload is going to be much more than I am used to. I'm going to need to really be on top of it... which brings me to decisions.

As I'm sure you all know, guys, I really don't want to quit this blog. And I don't want to quit WandCast either. But I think I'm going to have to pick one or do one more than the other.

Here is what I'm thinking right now: I think that I should semi-leave the blog, give it mostly to David, but have him let me post whenever I can without feeling completely obliged. I love WandCast just as much as Wizard 101 Info, and I think that I'm a vital part in making it the show that it is. I think it makes sense also to lean more heavily on WandCast because I'm a huge technical part of it. Anyway, whatever I decide to do, I can promise you that I'm still going to be an active community member whether it's blogging or podcasting, or a little bit of both.

Well? Let me know what you think of my idea to cut down on the blog a bit/ a lot and roll with the WandCast.

Thank you very much, guys.

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

Sorry, I'm a Bit Late. But a Contest Has Been Announced!

Yeah, er, I know. There's bit really no action here on Wizard101 Info the past week... or two. I'm sorry. It's summer, and the Real Life is blossoming, so I've figured that it's probably best to just... You know. Enjoy the weather rather than sit around and blog/play video games.

Anyway, I'm here to announce that a contest was announced on WandCast 9 which I haven't released yet. Due to the fact that it might not be out for listening until the end of this week, I think it makes sense to tell everyone who didn't hear the live show what we were saying the broadcast.

Okay, so here's the contest:

To enter our contest, you have to email us with a poem about the ghosts of Wizard101. Make sure that your poem has a pretty obvious theme that you execute well (i.e. funny, sad, death, etc.) We will be reading all of your poems and picking the one that we think does the best with it's theme/mood. Make sure you use descriptive words and that your poem is good! LOL! Send your entries to wizard101stuff@gmail.com. Winners will be announced on WandCast 10, which will be recording live on August 19 at 8:30 pm Eastern in our chatroom. The prize is a Pale Maiden pet that can *manifest Feint*.

Alright, guys, see you in the Spiral!

Keep on Casting,

Behold the Mighty SHARK!

Kinda a Jaws shark going on here, and of course credit to Friendly for just being so on top of things :)  This mean whitish blue fighting machine here is the general term of a shark, yes a shark.  so for the ecosystem here we have the squid, the shark, and more to come!   /face palm  shoot i didn't even show the picture yet!

I think i would name my shark........Chumley.  /shrug  i am on a inspiration block  :I

Also Samantha ThunderDust of   the Fearless Fire wizard, has recently finished comic #9 !  viewable on her blog site!

The Struggle between the 2(and more) worlds.....

David here, while I am here typing loudly and fastly on this laptop, i am forcefully compelled to write about recent events in W101. Today, I got cursed at. /shrug  oh well, it tends to happen, so us wizards have to leave with they're heads held high, and buzzing clouds of hate forming ideas in your brain. Also(totally different subject) I FINALLY got to Disc 2 on Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope!  Its pretty fun and addictive, just google it, and get a game idea. (NTF(Note to Friendly: How far have you gotten through FF13?)) Anyways, the world of wizard101 is a fun, but dangerous place full of scams, traps, and inappropriate content for children before the age of 9/10. I am at the beach condo and am forced to take my break of the Xbox360 for a while :-( but I can wait. I hope dearly that I can get off of this planet Roak and onto EnII,  lol, I feel geeky now. Anyway.... life is goooooooood, and today i went fishing and caught a.......eel.  yep a EEL. It was slimy gross and all around AWESOME!!!!!!   :)   I gotta start practicing for multiple stuff, Bar Mitzvah among other things, and finishing up summer school work. :(  But I should stop ranting now, THATS Dustin's job jk  :D   :P  Its a good reassurance that i at least have good friends on wiz101  :-)  so thanks, and Congratz to Donna Spellthorn on crafting a Mannequin. I should be going so peace out everyone!!!!!!

And... Real Life Wins!

What with recording a CD with my band in Real Life, working on lyrics for the same band, practicing for a huge show we have coming up at a venue (which I unfortunately can't boast about on here because it would give away to much about my Real Life), and practicing for my upcoming Bar Mitzvah, I've found it a bit difficult to blog.

Anyway, it is summer, so I suppose it's a good thing that I haven't been glued to the computer too much.

I thought I'd let you all know that I simply haven't had time to blog these past few days, and until the end of the week, it's going to stay the same. Hopefully David will get some posts in while I'm busy IRL, right ol' pal?

I also thought that I would remind you all that WandCast 9 will be going LIVE on Thursday, August 5 2010 at 8:30 pm Eastern Time. The show is being held right in the Podcast WandCast chatroom, and we would be ever grateful and appreciative if you would kindly drop by our show if you've got time. I hasten to announce that we will be joined by none other than The Friendly Necromancer himself on this broadcast on WandCast! Friendly will be with us for, I hope, the entire show, giving his witty and wacky opinions and whatnot on Wizard101.

Well, everyone, this is Dustin signing off for most of the week! I'm expecting Celestia to be announced sometime this week *DING DING THEORYCRAFTIN'*, so if that happens, I'll most definitely be blogging for a bit about it.

Until then...

KingsIsle Announces Wizard101 "Personas" for Firefox

This just in (actually, it was announced on Thursday but nobody really posted about it)!

KingsIsle announced that they created specialized Wizard 101 "personas" (basically, themes) for the web browser Firefox! These are really super cool if you use Firefox and are a die hard Wizard 101 fan. Being a Mac, I'm a Safari fan, but I downloaded Firefox for Mac (I'm one of the only wizards I know that uses their Mac to play Wizard101) just to try out these themes.

That's the Storm School one. I tried the Storm School Spells one out, but I couldn't see me favorites.

If you use Firefox, these themes are a must. Click here to get the list of the ones released so far!

This idea definitely came from a Storm Wizard.

To start this off, I'd like to sincerely apologize to Stephen and Leesha of Ravenwood Radio. I was a little shocked last night when Ravenwood Radio yet again received triple digit amounts of listeners. I felt bitter that Ravenwood Radio received 125 listeners, and WandCast only gets 25. Apart from that, there's been  few controversies between me and the Ravenwood Radio cast and crew and me. I'd like to again wholeheartedly say, "I'm sorry."

All right, on a lighter note, I had a "Eureka Moment" last night as I was going to bed. It was semi-inspired by Friendly's epic "Theorycrafting" segment on Ravenwood Radio. Allow me to explain it to you guys.

Is everyone clear on what an Aura is? They are more commonly known as "bubbles", "circles", and other things like that. Here is an example of an Aura card, Darkwind.

Auras are very useful in that they affect everyone on your team as long as they are up. They're not so useful in that they affect everyone on your opponents team. Many Wizards have mixed feelings about Auras for this precise reason; if you put up a Darkwind, it's going to give a +25% Storm Damage to all the Storm Damage spells that are cast by ANYONE in your duel circle. For example, if you cast a Storm Shark (a Storm Damage spell) with this Aura up, it's going to add 25% of that Storm Shark's damage to the damage that the Storm Shark actually does. If your enemy does the same, however, the boost from the Aura will still occur!

Self Auras! You hear me right, folks! Little bubbles on only your character that affect ONLY you when it comes to damage being outputted. In affect, a mini-Darkwind. Auras are useful in that you don't need to use blades, you can just go on and attack like normal! But when you do, you remember, "Hey, there's an Aura up!" And you do more damage. It allows you to wear the wand of your school, and yet still be able to functionally remove de-buffs like Weakness and Black Mantle.

Let me know if you like my idea.

The Wizard 101 Bloggers Club All-Star Meet & Greet Announcement!

Hey guys. My apologies for not posting for a few days. I guess that my philosophy behind a lack of posts is that once Celestia is actually fully released, I'm going to have enough to blog about.

For now, I'd rather enjoy the game until new quests come ;)

I'm here to announce a really special event; The Wizard 101 Blogger's Club All-Star Meet & Greet!

Here's the official announcement from John LifeGlen, the founder of the Wizard 101 Blogger's Club.

Alright, PLOX!

Haley the Journeyman & Bubba the Mythzilla

This morning I helped Haley MoonCatcher, my young Diviner sister, venture deep into the Pyramid of the Sun. Haley is doing really well, and she's really discovering herself as a Journeyman Diviner along the way.

It was a bunch of fun to help her out because I absolutely loved adjusting my deck to look like this.

It rocked being able to one hit so many bosses with a Storm Shark, and filling Haley's health completely with a single Sprite.

As I was saying, Haley is really discovering herself as a young Diviner. She's quickly found her "signature spell" for now, which is the Storm Beetle. It's so funny because whenever she casts it, the pet does a proc, and Haley can't it over how cool that is.

Pssh... Kids.

I've got to admit, the effects on that spell are "wicked". The lightning on the beetle as she (in our case, Princess Daisy) sticks the opponent with her piercing horns is epic. Truly epic.

It's been a blast helping Haley out recently. Be sure to check out her blog, The Legend of Haley MoonCatcher, for her own personal story on Wizard 101. It doesn't have that many posts on it right now because Haley has been away at camp for three weeks, but I'm sure she'll get right back in the swing of things any day now... When I remind her she's got a blog to update ;)

In other AWESOME news, I hatched a Mythzilla on my first try! I'd like to thank Heather EmeraldFlame for hatching with me. Remember to check out her blog here

Even though I wasn't hoping for a Mythzilla *I wanted a Tempest Hound/Storm Orthrus*, I really can't help but be happy about this hybrid. He's so cool!

Bubba's stats, however, are another story.

He only has one Epic ability accross his Talents AND Derby Powers. Not good... Therefore, Bubba becomes a cosmetic pet.

OKAY, and lastly, I've got a clue for all of you what my secret project with Icywiz and David is all about... Are you ready?

LBGO FO HTE AMTSRES.

Let's see if you can figure that out :)

A Celestia Reveal on National Blogger's Day!

Hey folks! As Friendly would put it... This is just in from the newswire.

I can only guess at what a newswire is. shrug/

So today we have a sort of... Shakespearean-garb Marleybone (female, I think), holding a wrench. Next to her is a red gobbler pet... But since I got this picture off of the Friendly Necromancer, he might have added that :)

Also, be sure to come on out to the National Blogger's Day event! Just be in the Wizard City Commons-Vampire Area 1- between 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm Eastern. That's not to hard to translate, right? Just subtract... LOL.

See some of you all there!

A closer examination of the Update Notes!

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE TYPO'S:

Hey All, David here. I only have a coupla minutes so I am gonna write a Big ol' Post for you. In the Update Notes shown Below there are some kinda sorta interesting "Tidbits" I read. Most of you probably just said "Celestia WOOT" and went along to play, leaving the Update notes to rot.   :D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr Lincoln will review this poll every Friday, and alter the pets accordingly the following week. If more information is needed about your pet, he will contact you through the email address you used when you registered for Wizard101.

Below is a "Poll" from Mr.Lincoln about..."If you obtained your School Specific pet from the level 48 quest, between May 25 2010 and July 8th 2010 it will not have the Power Pip chance talent.

If you would LIKE this talent on your pet, please fill out this form.
Mr Lincoln will review this poll every Friday, and alter the pets accordingly the following week. If more information is needed about your pet, he will contact you through the email address you used when you registered for Wizard101."
1. Wizard101 Login Username (!not the password!)

2. Character's Name (who holds the pet)
3. Pet Type (select one)Stormzilla (Storm)Colossus (Ice)Wraith (Death)Satyr (Life)Helephant (Fire)Orthrus (Myth)Hydra (Balance)
4. Pet Name:

Which the Link for is in the Ravenwood Bulletin on the Wizard101 login Desktop Icon.

*Ahem*, To differentiate the Colors- not to confuse anyone- Soooo, Who WOULDNT want to have that 5% Power pip Boost!. *Ahem* So Really Answer These Questions 1-4.

Back to black writing!. Its kinda interesting because there was a couple typo's from KI,*ponders why*

*Ahem*  Here it is!  "Cyrus has been using his red corrector pen to address minor spelling errors." Well Cyrus ol Buddy you must just be a little bit mad about how Halestrom Balestrom took he top spot for Celestia.  And Therefor left this sentence a bit undone. "1. Wizard101 Login Username (!not the password!)" anyone else see the prob?

Ok so done poking fun at Cyrus (for now...) and lets just get to some other important stuff we havent really noticed because well, for us GM we dont really visit DS anymore.

  • "the health of many creatures has decreased
  • the experience rewards have been increased
  • fewer creatures will need to be defeated to meet quest requirements
  • fewer items will need to be collected to meet quest requirements
  • several of the gauntlets have fewer rooms"

Isnt that just dandy!

Unfortunate that the overlooked that when me, Dustin, and a WHOLE bunch of GM's were lighting the place up! Anyways. So I suppose most of you are thinking WAHOO!

Pets!  I have good news and BAD news for you all!

Good:
  1. The prices for Hatching pets have been adjusted.
  2. The process of pet Hatching now has a confirmation window to ensure both parties agree to the transaction.
  3. All new level 48 quest reward pets will receive the Power Pip talent. (EXCEPT FOR THE ONE'S RECIEVED DURING THE TIME PD SHOWN ABOVE!)
  1. Life pets such as the EarthWalker will have life boosts, not Myth like some currently give

BAD:

  1. IceZilla is now only available through the hatching process. (AWWWW)

Anywho's enough sobbing over that. I should Probably stop before I BORE YOU ALL TO TEARS, if I havent already..?

NOOBS BEWARE!
There are now privacy options to only allow your Friends (but not their friends) to teleport to your home. Look for this in the Privacy Tab when you press ESC in the game.

The owner of a house can send guests away with the "Send Away" option. Just click on a Wizard in your Home and the Friends panel will appear, where you will see the option to "Send Away". The Wizard that was sent away will receive the message "The owner asked you to leave."

MUAHAHAHA!

Peace!

Featured Wizard 101 Blogger: Duncan D. of Necromancy of Ice

I'd been feeling lately like it was time for a spot light on someone in the community that's awesome; someone who's blog might need a boost up of hits!

And, today, the candidate is: Duncan D. from Necromancy of Ice!

Duncan and I go back pretty far; about two months ;)

Anyway, ever since I met him, I always get this message from him when I log on: "was sup man".

Duncan, your blog is fantastic and to the point. Here's a post I particularly enjoy of his; it's got nothing to do with the fact that I'm mentioned, of course :P Hey, I've got a big head. Kill me.

Everyone, go check out Duncan's blog, Necromancy of Ice (formerly known as Necromancer Nation), here. Enjoy!

Contest On WandCast 7!

Since WandCast 7 isn't going to be released (recorded/edited version) until maybe Wednesday or Thursday, I think it's right to announce the contest that's announced on there on HERE in case you didn't listen to the live recording last Thursday... so that everyone has enough time to get it done!

So here's the info on the contest!

To enter our contest, you have to send in a doodle/drawing (using your computer, crayons, canvas, etc.) of Kestrel, David, or Dustin (please say which Wizard) and email it to wizard101stuff@gmail.com. Then you're in! We're going to pick the doodle that we like most, so make sure that your doodle is aesthetically pleasing (that means good to look at), has originality, style, skill, humor/realistic, etc. We will only choose 1 winner. Choose who you're going to draw carefully! It can be a cartoon or a realistic drawing, ANYTHING, as long as you think we'll like it!

Well, you could send something you don't think we'll like, but... I digress.

What can you win, EH? Well, you'll be able to choose between the Ascendant StaffPhosphorescent Maul, the Celestian Trident, the Celestian Sword *NEW*,  or the Cerulean Edge! If you'd like to see what all of these wands stats are, check them out in the Crowns Shop in the upper left hand corner of your screen.

The winners will be announced on WandCast 8, which will be recording live in our chatroom  on July 22 (a Thursday), 2010, at 8:30 pm EDT.

We hope to see a lot of entries!

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

P.S. If you don't know how to scan drawings into your computer through your printer, you could ask a parent how. If that is also unhelpful, take a picture of your drawing and upload that to your computer.

Stuff You Already Knew, But Maybe Didn't.

So, as you just have to know already, all of the Celestia pre-quests, Grizzleheim updates (crafting, housing), Dragonspyre updates (making it easier *wink*), "proc"ing updates (when using an innate card from a certain pet, the pet will proc and cast the card using a proc), etc., etc.

I've been enjoying all of this stuff so much, there's been no posting here on the wonderful Wizard 101 Info blog run by the Info Kids themselves!

Tonight I beat through all of the Celestia pre-quests expect the Warehouse. When it came around to that, I ran it with Leesha DarkHeart (or is it DarkHart?), Taji34 (Luke DragonTamer), and David. You all know who David it. Anyway, due to my general-stupidity-and-arrogance-in-the-final-boss-fight, David's-stupid-new-disfunctional-Celestian-sword-which-he-bought-with-Crowns-oh-curses, we died on the last floor of the tower! I really do hope Leesha doesn't hate me too much now, especially after I nagged her to get on Skype ;)

Leesha, you rock < flattery. Please accept my friend request on Diary of a Wizard ConnectX!

*ahem*

WandCast 7 Live went great! The only problem is that since I'm enjoying my vacation here at the beach, the show is going to take longer to edit than usual. I'm a little upset that we talked about the Test Realm news when the Live stuff came out the next day... Whatever. If you wanna listen to uncut Episode 7, click here and scroll through the chatroom video-on-demand archives until you find it.

I've got the sudden urge to explain to you all how to do that, but you're all smart and I've got a little bit of obsessive compulsive disorder in my along with my rapid time syndrome ;), so it's all good.

The turnout for our after-party after the show. A ton of fun!

Jacob ThunderSword with his newly won Swiftshadow Wings.
Congratulations on winning the Swiftshadows', Jacob!

I hope to have WandCast 7 out by Wednesday or Thursday. Sorry! Try and bare with me, okay everyone :D?

See you all ITS tomorrow to do some more Celestia stuff... and maybe give the Warehouse another go!

Lastly, if David had an alter ego, his name would be Goliath MidgetRider.

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher
