Exceedingly Tedious Various Updates from Dustin, Abridged.

Hey all! Dustin here!

It's been a little since I posted, but that's cool. My Bar Mitzvah is all finished up now (it's David's turn next. I can't wait.)

Anyway, I scored an Epic Bundle Gift Card from David for my birthday. Thanks cousin! I've been putting a lot of energy into putting it together, and it's been going really well. I started Gardening as well, and it's going... okay. I'm really not a fan of having to check on the Garden everyday. I think KI really should look into fixing that. Sorry. Kestrel's T Word Theorem is just too prominent here.

What else, what else. Oh! Celestia! David and I recently faced one of the most deadly minions of Morganthe - yet another shark! I'm not sure about the name of the boss, but finishing up a certain instance level (aka dungeon if you're not an old timer) ended with our entry into the Sun Zone of Celestia. Updates coming soon on how that's been!

I'd also like to take a moment to commemorate Luke GoldHorn, a fantastic blogger who is leaving the Wizard community for at least a few years. Luke, you've earned this break, and come back or not, you've been a truly amazing friend to David and me. We both wish you luck in all your future endeavors. Even though we'll be talking to you on Skype now and then ;-)

All right, folks. That's my update... for now.

Signing off with a mighty "EEEPA, EEEPA,"

Two Way Renovating

Hey guys! I feel like I've been doing two types of renovating right now, so I'll take you through them...

The first renovation is the Wizard101 Info renovation. I'm having a great time redesigning the blog with the great blogger John SpiritShade from Ambrose 2 Zeke. He's awesome! Anyway, we've got a new header, color scheme, and a little bit more coming for you soon. I just have to give John a huge thank you for helping me out - his graphic design is incredible, and Wizard101 Info will look so good once it's all done. (Any #Twizards reading? Then follow John on Twitter for the latest updates from his blog and Spiral life: @spiritshade101 and @ambrose2zeke.)

Until then, though, all you poor unfortunate readers will be stuck with a classical Blogger template. You're welcome!

The second renovation I've been doing is of my alternate character, who hails from the Myth School. Recently, I took Dustin DuskCatcher into Krokotopia! He finished all Wizard City quests, and is taking the new sandy climate headstrong.

Just today, he hit Level 16 while questing in the early to mid stages of the Pyramid of the Sun. This meant two new spells: the Ether Shield from Myth, and the Tower Shield from Ice. I had MoonCatcher learn Life to Satyr and Death to Feint, so I'm trying a bit more defensive approach with DuskCatcher (Ice to Tower, Death to Feint.) Of course, this includes the mandatory tri-blade tri-trap stuff from Niles, and, eventually, a Celestial school. I'm leaning towards Sun for D.D.M., but it might have to be Star... Or, I could pick and choose from all the Celestial schools like I wish I'd done with Dustin.

Let me know what you think of my plan by leaving a comment on this post...

Well, that's an update on what I've been up too. Check back soon for a new and improved Wizard101 Info!

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

Back In Business - Grand Re-Opening!

Before I begin, please allow me to define "nostalgia" for you.

"nostalgia:" a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal association

Yeah, folks, I'm feeling really nostalgic. I wanna be back with you all here on Wizard 101 Info, and not over at the Musings!

Friends, and wizards, please allow me to officially announce... what we were planning on announcing months from now... but what I will announce now...

THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF WIZARD 101 INFO!

Because although you guys have been great and haven't complained too much, we know that we've been really bad bloggers for the past 4 months. We know it, yo.

So we're back in business! If you've been keeping up with my Musings blog, which I'm putting on hold for a bit to come back here, you'll know that David and I are now Level 59 and and playing in the sun zones of Celestia.

Stay closely tuned, Wizards! We'll be back soon with a new design for the blog as well as hopefully an abundance of posts.

I wish I could give you all codes for the Epic Gift card to show you how awesome you guys are. But I am broke. So I can't.

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

Celestia Is Here, And So Am I!

Hey, everyone! It's Dustin here, and I can't even express how awesome it is to be blogging again.

Allow me to recap - I've had to stop blogging weekly/daily because of my band, my upcoming Bar Mitzvah, and homework.

But hey, guys, look: Celestia is up on the Test Realm right now as I type this, which is just uber cool! You can read about what's up with all the new updates here (that's the Wizard101 Update Notes page).

Anyway, I'm back on Wizard101 Info because Celestia needs me to blog about it. No more questions asked. You'll  be seeing hopefully a bit more of me once Celestia actually comes on the Live Realm.

I'm going to make a real effort to keep this blog updated - so please keep checking back here, but I can't promise top-notch posts everyday.

Thank you very much to everyone who's stuck with me and David for so long. We can't wait to blog about our adventures in Celestia together.

Keep on Casting,
D. MoonCatcher

What I'm Doin'.

Okay, so I've made up my mind about what I'm going to do about my current dilemma. (Just read that post I linked to remember my position.)

I have decided first off to let you know about what I'm going to do regarding WandCast. I'm really sad to say this, but I just have to take a hiatus from it for an episode or two. It's been pretty stressful being the only one on the show who actually has to do technical stuff (no offense at all to my "co-workers"). Every show, I've got to broadcast the whole thing while recording it while doing the Skype call. Then, afterward, I'm the one who has to edit it (which means re-listening to the whole show pretty much sentence by sentence and cutting out all the junk David says *wink*) Why? Maybe it's just because I'm good at it. But during my hiatus, Kestrel and David will need to step up to the tasks themselves, and I'm interested in seeing how they do. Maybe, after I get back, we can split up the responsibilities a bit more evenly. Also, the reason you haven't seen WandCast 10 out yet is because we (well, since I'm on a hiatus, David and Kestrel) are thinking about re-shooting it due to technical problems and an overall not-good-enough problem.

Alright, so now I'm moving on. I've decided to keep up with Wizard101 Info full time. It was my first ever connection to this fabulous community, and it's going to get better and better as we get closer (and when) to Celestia's release. Yes, this means that I will be picking up with posts again. (I'm really sorry about the lack of 'em! I've actually got a lot to talk about with you guys.)

And finally, I've got a huge new project coming out. If you are a good writer and would be willing to write, email me (wizard101stuff@gmail.com). That's all I'm sayin'.

Well, guys, lemme know what you think of my decision! This is King Boom signing off.

Decisions?

As you can obviously tell, I've been posting less. This is due simply to the fact that my Real Life is taking over. And although it's making me very sad to think about it, there's going to be a lot of decisions I'm going to making pretty soon (as in the coming school year).

It's summer, and my whole Real Life is just taking off. I've been busy with a lot of band stuff. My band is really prominent in the area where I live, as is punk rock music (which we play). We played just last night at a huge venue that I'd LOVE to mention because if you know music, you'd know the venue. And then you'd think I'm cool. But I can't, because it would give away my top secret location. Anyway, it's really taking off for us (with a second CD in the process of being recorded and mixed), and we're pretty much getting shows left and right, and the demand for writing more and more songs is getting higher. On top of that, I've been semi-forced to set up a blog for the band/myself that has nothing to do with Wizard101, as well as a Twitter account. It's all for the goal of getting better connections in my area, which is very important.

So my band is taking up a huge amount of my time, and I'm happy! However, it's going to be more and more time consuming as the year progresses. But I'm worried that more things (like, oh, I dunno... SCHOOLWORK) is going to take up even more time. As you might know because I've blogged it before, I'm going to a private school next year. It's not that geeky of a school, actually, but the workload is going to be much more than I am used to. I'm going to need to really be on top of it... which brings me to decisions.

As I'm sure you all know, guys, I really don't want to quit this blog. And I don't want to quit WandCast either. But I think I'm going to have to pick one or do one more than the other.

Here is what I'm thinking right now: I think that I should semi-leave the blog, give it mostly to David, but have him let me post whenever I can without feeling completely obliged. I love WandCast just as much as Wizard 101 Info, and I think that I'm a vital part in making it the show that it is. I think it makes sense also to lean more heavily on WandCast because I'm a huge technical part of it. Anyway, whatever I decide to do, I can promise you that I'm still going to be an active community member whether it's blogging or podcasting, or a little bit of both.

Well? Let me know what you think of my idea to cut down on the blog a bit/ a lot and roll with the WandCast.

Thank you very much, guys.

New Beckett Stuff!

We've got some new Beckett stuff, everyone. This stuff doesn't really disappoint. (Click here for the official Beckett page on Wizard 101.com)

Click on that to read it close up.

Anyway, I've been off the blog for a bit because I've been playing with Haley MoonCatcher and I've had a friend over for the past day and a half. ALSO, in the midst of that, WandCast 8 had to be edited! I'm sure I'll get back into the juicy posts when more of Celestia is released.

Alright, guys. I'll be back hopefully tonight with WandCast 8!

Rather... Constant Template Changes

As you may have noticed,

Okay, who the heck am I kidding? If you haven't noticed the constant changes I've been making in the template here on Wizard 101 Info, then you've got to be really dimwitted. Or maybe your aesthetic sense just doesn't tingle when you realize that one of your favorite blog's template has been changing every hour on the hour for the past day.

Don't worry. I don't take it personally.

Anyway, just let us know if there's a particular template that you liked more then the others. Or whatever.

Can I Ask a Favor?

Ever since the move, I have been facing the daunting task of copying all of the Wizard 101 blogs from Wizard 101 Info WordPress onto Wizard 101 Blogger.

What is this favor you Dustin asks of you? Read on...

If you have a Wizard 101 blog/fansite, leave it in a comment right here... right on this post...
Okay! I can't wait to see that links flowing in...

Keep on Casting,
Dustin

Hmm... What Could THIS Mean?

Got an email notification from Wizard 101 Info on WordPress. It's on a post about the old Homework in a Graveyard blog, which was an amazing blog that was run by the (so I hear) incredible Autumn DuskHunter. Wanna know what it says, eh? Go ahead, read!
"Be careful what you wish for" ;) The dead, in W101, never truly *stay* dead, do they? Thank you for your comments. "Celestia cometh soon".
Does this mean that Autumn might come back to Wizard 101 to play in Celestia?! I would love to meet her SO much... A true inspiration, seriously...

Also, after checking her blog, I saw this--

Do you see what I'm talking about?!? We're in her BlogRoll! EEP! She also made a new post that has a single picture of the new mysterious Celestia wallpaper. AND it says "coming soon", or something.
Guys, I really think that she might be coming back for a little while.

Dustin

Gettin' Settled...

So, everyone, I think that we're pretty much settled in here at Blogger! Of course, I've got to work on the colors of all the pages. You know, like on the GrandMaster Gear page, it had the coolio colors for each school?
Right? No?
Okay, whatever.
Otherwise, I've got the header to look really nice, and I've worked on the blog colors so that it doesn't look awful. Speaking of working on the header, Kestrel made a really nice post/guide on her blog that explains really well how to post pictures on a Blogger blog. It has really helped me, and David.
Also, thanks to everyone who has updated their blogroll/Blogger Club for this move. I appreciate it. I think that I'm going to ask Jeff Toney (the Gobbler King/artist) over at KingsIsle to please, please change the Wizard 101 Info link on the Fansites and Links page. Who thinks he'll oblige?

Keep On Casting,
Dustin

P.S. Kestrel, nice name when you titled your post. Fits well ;-)

How Do You Post Pictures?

Well, this is EXTREMELY awkward...

Can anyone tell me/post a picture showing HOW exactly to post screenshots on Blogger? Like, how could I put a picture into this post?

I'm really embarrassed that I don't know.

-Dustin

P.S. PLUS, Blogger doesn't have an automatic spell check as far as I know, so if you realize that my spelling isn't as great as it normally is... I still like Blogger better, though!

Congrats, You've Found Us!

Well, you've found the (new) Wizard 101 Info! I'm sorry if we've upset anyone by moving, but we've decided that Blogger really does suit us what we want to do with blogging better.
AND so here we go. It'll be as if nothing ever happened! You'll just come here instead of our old URL. Does this work with everyone? Please, let us know if you're not okay with us being on Blogger. We love blogging, and don't think it matters so much which provider we use...
Enough of this rant. Thanks for checking out Wizard 101 Info!

-Dustin
